Future of K8s Tenancy : vCluster v0.28 Auto Nodes

Kick off the next chapter of our Future of Kubernetes Tenancy series with a first look at vCluster v0.28 and its headline feature: Auto Nodes.

Auto Nodes build on Private Nodes to introduce smarter, automated scaling for tenant infrastructure, powered by Karpenter. With this release, vCluster can now provision and scale dedicated worker nodes dynamically based on real tenant workloads, eliminating manual intervention, overprovisioning, and guesswork.

From dev environments and CI pipelines to GPU-backed clusters, Auto Nodes adjust each virtual cluster’s footprint automatically, giving teams both isolation and efficiency.

This is Tenancy as Code, taken further, declarative, dynamic, and now self-scaling to match any workload.
